Quickstart

1. Set a key (optional — you can also add one in the UI).

   OpenAI

   export OPENAI_API_KEY=sk-...

   Anthropic

   export ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=sk-ant-...

   Gemini

   export GEMINI_API_KEY=...

   Ollama (local)

   ollama pull llama3.2   # Moka detects Ollama on localhost automatically

2. Run Moka (Node.js 20 or newer).

   npx @mokalabs/sandbox

   Your browser opens at a URL like http://localhost:4000/?token=…. The token protects the local server — see Security.

3. Click a starter prompt. The built-in Moka demo tools server is already connected, so the model can check the time, do math, roll dice (with an interactive MCP App), fetch web pages and more. Watch the Inspector on the right fill with model steps, tool calls and raw MCP messages.

4. Add your own things. Open Settings (⌘ ,):

   • Models → Add model to connect another provider or your company gateway.
   • MCP servers → Add server to pick from the gallery, fill in a form, or paste your Claude Desktop / Cursor config.
   • Skills → Add skill to load a SKILL.md folder.

Want a shareable project instead?

npm create moka@latest my-demo scaffolds a folder with a moka.json, example skills and two ready-made workspaces. Run npm start inside it.
